EATING DISORDER TREATMENT REVIEWS

Welcome to Eating Disorder Treatment Reviews! This is the first, original site with the largest database of reviews for clients and consumers. The PURPOSE of this site is to help you find treatment at a level that is appropriate for you so that you can get the best fitting treatment out there. The main goal of the site is to be objective, offer client-to-client reviews and also have the chance to interact directly with current and former patients of eating disorder treatment centers around the United States.

Before posting, please read the Guidelines in order to respect all those contributing to the site and to maintain a safe and positive environment. If you would like to do a full review — which is very welcome! — there is also a link and button that lists ideas and questions to answer.

Please note: This is not a Pro-ED site in any way. It is to promote awareness, education, assistance for treatment and resources for eating disorders. Any “pro” actions will not be attended to — this site is to be a resource and aid in finding treatment.

Thank you to everyone for being willing to share your experiences in treatment over the years. That is what has kept the site going, and I hope that people continue to do so to help others find the right treatment in their journey of recovery. If you have other ideas, resources, etc. to offer, please contact me, as I want the site to be as beneficial as possible.

Client Treatment Reviews

This is the doorway where you will find a large database of reviews and where you can add your own experiences and reviews. There is a page for inpatient treatment centers and residential programs and a separate page for IOP/PHP reviews. If a center needs to be added, please let me know! You can also navigate to either page from the “Services” menu at the top of the page.

EDTR Guidelines and Ideas for Writing a Review

Please visit this page first to understand the guidelines of the forum that help continue to create a respectful place. Additionally, there is a link to a list of commonly asked questions and ideas for writing a treatment center review. I am very liberal and let everyone’s voice heard, but some guidelines are in place to maintain safety. If you have any questions or concerns, or want to post anonymously, please contact me.

Client General Forum

If you have general questions that don’t pertain to a certain treatment center, or would like to get recommendations from the community, this is where to ask!

Search

You can now use the search option to search for treatment centers, reviews and levels of treatment. Click here, or use the magnifying glass on the top menu.

Resources

The Resource page will consistently be updated. It’s a great forum to learn about eating disorders, different types of resources such as other great supportive links, how to pay for treatment, which centers take Medicare, and other several topics. If you have a subject you would like covered or a good resource you would like to add, please contact me and let me know!

HOW EDTR WORKS:

  • To write or read client reviews of treatment centers around the country, check out our treatment center review pages. The directory of Inpatient/Residential treatment centers is organized both alphabetically and by state. There is a separate page of IOP/PHP programs organized alphabetically. In addition, you can filter by “Treatment Categories” on the sidebars.

  • The Client General Forum is a place to ask and answer general questions about eating disorder treatment centers. Anything regarding a specific center should be posted on that center’s page. Feel free to post in more than one location.

  • The Resource Page is continually being updated but will offer a much larger resource base for those seeking treatment for eating disorders, including educational information, ideas of how to pay for treatment, helpful links and other resources.
