I am the administrator of eating disorder treatment review center website (www.edtreatmentreview.com) where consumers are able to post personal experiences and reviews about their experiences with eating disorder treatment centers. The goal of the site is to help individuals find a center whose model might fit them the best and answer some of the questions that are “in between the lines” that maybe the admission packet may not cover, or extra help before the person goes. It is carefully monitored, there is no toleration or promotion for continuity of the disease. Simply, my main goal is to provide a resource for families and patients to find good care.
Having moved to my own forum, I have wanted to create a Professional Forum, where hospitals and clinics can have a listing providing their information and resources, but in addition, also be able to post comments that the consumers are able to read and respond. No other website offers such an option or unique correspondence with individuals seeking treatment. The site is a project constantly in progress and gets at least around 1,500 hits a day.
Other well known sites allow clinics to post general information for at least $20. However, the listing on www.edtreatmentreview.com offers not only a listing but the ability to comment and correspond as well. Since this is the introductory period and because I would really like to build up the unique aspect of a professional based forum, I wanted to offer three very affordable options that would offer access, awareness, and updated information.
- $10/mo-Listing of your program in the professional forum, program summary, and the ability to comment and reply to readers.
- $20/mo-Banner image on the professional forum or running banner, program summary, and the ability to comment and reply to readers.
- $25/mo-A running banner ad on the front “welcome” page of the site, a program summary on the professional page, and the ability to comment and reply to readers.
